Book Recomendation

Hello Everyone,

I thought that I would share with you a book that I am reading right now. It is called "The Satisfied Heart". It is such an amazing little book so far! The whole book is about how God is the only one who can truly satisfy our need and our desire for love. It teaches that if we base our love on human love we are setting ourselves up for disappointment in the end. Human love fails, but God's love never fails us. It is always there. This book will challenge you in a way that you never thought about God's love.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. It is worth your time and is life changing!

Considering It ALL Joy...

Hello Everyone!

I woke up sick again this morning. As I was lying in bed resting, I was reading through my devotion and I came across something that I felt like sharing with you all. For my devotions I am reading a book called "The Satisfied Heart". What a meaningful book it is! Today's lesson was on, "In All My Joys and Trials". It was definately God trying to teach me something. :) I was reminded today of how even when we go through things that are not pleasant and trials of many kinds, it is important to remember that whatever we are going through today has been passed through the hand of the Father and stamped with His approval for our lives. We need to remember that even through the trials He still loves us the same. We don't always see the purpose of going through the trials and hardships, but there is a reason for it all even if we don't see it at the time. Isn't it wonderful to know that we have a wonderful Father to help us through the trials that we face in our lives? And in the process, we draw closer to Him and learn to seek His ways.

May we all learn to consider it ALL joy and be thankful that we have a God that loves us through the trials that we face in our lives!

And may we all put into practice James 1:2-4!

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I just wanted to share with you the words of a poem written by Amy Carmichael that I read recently during my quiet time today.

Love of my heart, my stream runs dry;

O Fountain of the heavenly hills,

Love, blessed Love, to Thee I cry,

Fill all my secret hidden rills.

Waters of Love, O pour through me;

I must have Love; I must have Thee.

May we seek to have a heart that is only satisfied when we have the Love of Christ living in us. For it is Christ and Christ alone that will satisfy our hearts.

Book Recommendation...

I thought that I would share a book recommendation with you. I just finished reading a wonderful book called "Just Jane" which is the story of Jane Austen from a more historical perspective. It also tells the spiritual part of her life which you rarely hear about. If you love the works of Jane Austen but are more interested about the actual life of the author, I would definitely recommend reading this book!
